Curriculum & this term's topic - What we are learning?
Our topic this term is What makes me special?
We will be reading a variety of fiction and non-fiction books including Super Duper You, The Colour Monster, The name Jar, Giraffe is left out, Only One You and What makes me a me!
We will be thinking about all the things we like, what we enjoy doing, who lives with us and where do we live.
The children will also focus on learning a new sound each day starting with s, a, t, p, i, n, d, g, in the first two weeks of starting school. They will also learn how to form their taught sounds correctly each day through our daily finger fit (writing) activities. There will also be lots of mathematic opportunities during Choosing Your Own Learning time (COOL Time) focusing on visualising, building and mapping.
There will be lots of opportunity to explore our wonderful indoor and outdoor environment during COOL time igniting awe and wonder to help them develop their important vocabulary skills and understanding of the world.
