Spring Term 1: A Day at our school
Each day at our school is filled with exciting and engaging activities to help our students grow and learn in every subject area. Here's a glimpse into a typical day during the Spring Term 1:
Morning:
- Start of the day: We kick off our morning with the register, ensuring everyone is accounted for and ready to start the day.
- Guided Reading & Spelling: After that, students dive into guided reading sessions, where they get the chance to develop their reading skills with a teacher, followed by spelling practice to build their literacy foundation.
- Maths: Next, it's time for maths! Students engage in fun and challenging activities designed to strengthen their mathematical understanding.
- Break: After maths, it's time for a well-deserved break.
- English: The morning ends with an engaging English lesson, focusing on developing writing, comprehension, and communication skills.
Afternoon:
- Reading for pleasure: After lunch, we promote a love of reading with a dedicated time for reading for pleasure. Students can explore new books and stories at their own pace. We also provide time for students to change their books and participate in one-on-one reading sessions with an adult to ensure they are supported in their learning.
Subjects throughout the week:
- Monday: ICT and RE - Students explore the digital world in ICT and learn about different religions in RE.
- Tuesday: Science and PSHE - Our budding scientists enjoy exploring the world of Science, while PSHE focuses on developing important life skills.
- Wednesday: Spanish, PE & Assembly - Students immerse themselves in Spanish language learning, followed by a fun PE session to keep them active, and conclude with an inspiring assembly.
- Thursday: Topic & Music - Thursdays are a chance for students to dive into an exciting Topic lesson, followed by music lessons where they can discover their inner musicians.
- Friday: PE, Art & Assembly - We end the week on a high with another PE lesson, a creative Art session, and a final assembly to celebrate the week’s achievements.
Our school day is thoughtfully structured to balance focused learning, creativity, and physical activity, ensuring that each student is engaged and motivated throughout the week.
