Welcome to St Stephen Churchtown Academy Nursery.
We have lots of exciting opportunities in our nursery and cater for children aged between 2 & 4 years.
In the nursery we provide the children with opportunities to explore and learn through play, as well as more focused experiences. Everything is designed to develop the essential social and learning skills children need when entering more formal learning at a later stage. We promote inquisitive minds and independent attitudes and have created a space in which children can thrive. Our nursery is a carefully planned environment which allows children to explore, practise and refine learning using a core set of resources which are built upon throughout the year.

Polzeath Curriculum: What we are learning!
Our topic this half term is: Come Outside!
We will be reading a variety of books including; We're Going on a Bear Hunt, The Tiny Seed, Sam Plants a Sunflower, Jack and the Beanstalk, Oliver's Vegetables and Tree.
We will be thinking about what living things need to grow, including what humans need to keep a healthy mind and body.
In addition we will be completing lots of name writing, building on our first names to include our surnames. We will also be looking at 2D and 3D shapes, numbers to 6 and the composition of those numbers
There will be lots of opportunity to grow different plants and herbs in Choosing Time, exploring plants and igniting awe and wonder as they see their hard work come to life.
