Carlyon Bay class had a visit from Iain Rowe, he works at the Cornwall record office and spoke to the class about the history of mining in Cornwall.  We started off by watching a presentation and playing a version of 'Rock, paper, scissors' called 'Rock, water, dynamite!'
Then we got to hold ore and the metals that come from Cornish mines.
After we had listened to Iain, we then had a variety of Historical and Geographical sources to read, look at and interpret.  There were census documents, maps, photos and newspaper articles.
Carlyon Bay have enjoyed learning and writing their own adverts. We have written our own adverts and performed them. The children have experimented with using a green screen and iPad apps to turn it into an interesting advert.
